Laura & Kevin’s Unforgettable Downtown Toronto Wedding at Second Floor Events

There’s something magical about weddings, but when you combine a stunning venue, a couple who radiates love, and the charm of Downtown Toronto, you create an unforgettable day. Laura and Kevin’s wedding at Second Floor Events, one of the city’s most chic and stylish event spaces, was nothing short of spectacular.

From the intimate and laughter filled ceremony to the vibrant, wig-wearing celebration that followed, this wedding had it all—elegance, joy, and a deep connection between two people embarking on their next chapter together. Lumena Films was able to capture every moment in photos, and through video footage. Let’s walk through this unforgettable day.

Why Choose Second Floor Events for Your Wedding in Downtown Toronto?

Second Floor Events is one of Toronto's premier wedding venues, offering a stunning mix of industrial charm and urban sophistication. Located in the heart of King Street West, this venue offers expansive windows, exposed brick walls, and a versatile space that can be customized to suit any wedding style. For couples like Laura and Kevin, it’s the perfect spot for hosting an unforgettable celebration in one of Toronto’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a larger reception, Second Floor Events can accommodate a variety of wedding sizes. The flexibility and style of the space make it a standout option for couples looking for a wedding venue with a unique, modern vibe. We took advantage of the alleyway right outside the venue, to capture some moments of Laura & Kevin together, with the stunning, urban backdrop of high rise and exposed brick buildings.

A Picture-Perfect Ceremony in Downtown Toronto

As guests arrived at Second Floor Events, the excitement was palpable. The venue’s sleek design and natural lighting set the perfect tone for the wedding ceremony. Laura, looking stunning in her custom bridal gown from 3rd Floor Tailors, walked down the aisle with her brother by her side, a wholesome moment that we made sure to capture so that Laura could look back on it for years to come. Kevin, waiting at the altar, couldn’t contain his smile as he watched his bride approach, and was perhaps trying to withhold a tear or two.

The ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, with a personal touch as the couple exchanged their own vows. This made the ceremony even more special, allowing them to share their promises in their own words, while also being their hilarious, kind selves. One of our favourite moments was their marriage certificate signing, when they asked the Groom's brother to act as the signing table. This had everyone in the crowd laughing as the couple and witnesses made their signatures.

A Reception Filled with Fun, Food, and Dancing

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour and socializing with family and friends. Laura & Kevin made their way around to each person, greeting and hugging them for being with them on their special day. Soon after, guests moved into the reception area for an evening filled with laughter, good food, heartfelt speeches and some fantastic wig-wearing dancing. The transformation of the space into a vibrant reception venue was nothing short of spectacular. The wedding reception was beautifully styled with elegantly set tables and soft lighting from the string lights hanging above. Laura made sure to add a special personalized touch to each of the tables, by having her favourite group of people at West Toronto Keys to Inclusion create their own paper flower centre pieces. This was definitely the perfect touch to their reception decor.

The meal was a highlight of the evening, featuring a delicious selection of gourmet dishes prepared by the talented catering team at Second Floor Events.

And of course, no celebration is complete without dancing! After a heartfelt first dance between Laura and Kevin, Laura shared a dance with all of the father figures in her life. Kevin also shared a heartfelt dance with his Mother, Beth. Then it was time to get the party started. To spice things up a bit... Laura and Kevin asked each guest to bring their best wig to the party. Once dinner was complete, the wigs came out and the party began. The couple’s choice of songs kept the energy high, and before long, the entire room was on their feet, celebrating with the newlyweds. From top hits to classic favorites, the playlist was a reflection of their personalities and the fun atmosphere of their wedding day.
